God's Blessings at Language School

"From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord’s name is to be praised."--Psalms 113:3.

Every day is a good day to praise the Lord! Every sunrise reminds us of His new mercies, and every sunset recalls His never-ending goodness.

Greetings from Texas! We are writing from the Rio Grande Bible Institute where Jeff is now in his ninth week of language school. His busy schedule consists of four classes Monday- Friday from 8:20 AM-12:20 PM and a 50-minute personal tutoring session Monday-Thursday afternoon. The program aims to completely immerse students in Spanish with minimal English speaking allowed. Consequently, his biggest challenge is memorizing the information. However, every professor and staff member is encouraging and committed to making Jeff fluent in Spanish by May 2025. We rent a 3-bedroom apartment on campus for living quarters. The campus has almost everything a student needs to survive: a post office, library, laundromat, coffee shop, and food pantry all serve the needs of the students. The food pantry is a wonderful option for grocery items. Open to all students for one hour on Monday and Friday afternoons, the pantry is full of free pastries, fruits, meats, and other snacks. With God's blessings around us, it is only fit to praise Him.

Jeff Hertzler Family at a party

The church at Champion Holiness Mission and Pastor Titus Shuecraft have made us feel at home while we attend the college. The presence of the Lord strengthens us in every service. McKenzie and Zachary love Texas and enjoy spending time with their new friends at church and on campus.

We are happy to announce that the state of Virginia has approved our 501C3 Status! It's such a relief to know that our work has paid off and we can enjoy the benefits of a registered non-profit organization. Online giving will be available as soon as we set up a mission bank account. Hopefully, we can set it up remotely while in Texas. After several months in Texas, we will be home for Christmas break from December 11 to January 10! We look forward to our whole family being together for the holidays.

Please help us pray for . . .

  • Our health

  • That Jeff will be able to retain the new information that he is learning.

  • Further direction where the Lord would have us labor.

  • Those whom we are called to reach and that God would prepare their hearts to receive the Gospel.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We are very thankful to God for each one of you.

In Christ,

Jeff and Julia Hertzler Family
